Frank Myers Auto Maxx Chosen As Carolina Clunkers Dealer

The new Carolina Clunkers program has returned and Winston Salem used car dealer, Frank Myers Auto Maxx, has been chosen as an authorized dealer. Details about the CAROLINA CLUNKERS program have been announced, following up on the car-buying frenzy of the government-sponsored program.

Under the “Carolina Clunkers” program, consumers receive up to $4,500 more for their vehicle than it’s worth when they trade in their old vehicle and purchase any qualifying vehicle from any participating dealership.

In order to be eligible for the program, the trade-in passenger vehicle must be in drivable condition. Transactions must be made between March 1, 2012 and March 31, 2012. This is a limited time opportunity.

The CAROLINA CLUNKERS program is a privately funded program that helps consumers buy a pre-owned vehicle from a participating dealer when they trade in a “clunker” car or truck. The program is designed to energize the economy, boost auto sales and put safer vehicles on North Carolina roadways. No local, state or federal tax dollars are being used to fund this program.

To be eligible for a trade-in discount, vehicles must be drivable. Both domestic and imported vehicles are eligible for the program

Consumers bring their trade-in vehicles to any participating dealership.

Consumers will receive up to $4,500 more for their vehicle than it’s worth when they trade in their old vehicle and purchase any qualifying vehicle.

The dealers are not reimbursed by any other government program or taxpayer-supported program.  The vehicles traded in under the CAROLINA CLUNKERS program will be disposed of at the selling dealer’s discretion.

“Car Men” Chosen To Be Superbowl Lead-In

The film “Car Men” is scheduled to debut on the grandest stage of them all…as the lead-in to the 2012 Superbowl on NBC! This is following the success of its U.S. theatrical premiere and its television ratings smash.

The worldwide television premiere of the film “Car Men” was on December 18 and the ratings were stunningly huge, especially for a documentary about a used car dealership.

Shown on NBC affiliate WXII, “Car Men” delivered a household rating of a 1.9 – 1st in the time period with all the major stations.

Even more impressive: The documentary had an undesirable infomercial lead in and had tough competition on another network from an NFL pre-game show. Expectations were high that the film would perform strong, but not like this.

Because of those ratings, Winston Salem NBC affiliate WXII 12 offered the makers of “Car Men” the opportunity to be what is potentially going to be the lead-in for the most watched television program of the year…Superbowl XLVI.

“Car Men” reveals an in-depth look at the Myers men, Frank and Tracy. While Tracy Myers may play outrageous on television to sell cars – this best-selling author, nationally-recognized entrepreneur, and devoted family man is dead serious when it comes to building a business he, his family and his city can be proud of.

“In the car business, Tracy Myers is who everybody wants to be” said auto industry pro Bruce Roffey. “When you watch Car Men, you’ll find out why.”

“My dad and I are honored and humbled that this film was made. It’s an amazing legacy, not only for our family but also for the city of Winston-Salem,” said Tracy Myers, one of the films stars. Myers continued by saying, “I was amazed at the response we got at the red carpet premiere and was shocked at the ratings it delivered when it debuted on tv. But when I found out that the film was being shown before the Superbowl, I couldn’t believe it. I’m still in shock.”

The film “Car Men” will be shown Sunday morning, February 5th 2012 at 11:30am on Winston Salem, NC NBC affiliate WXII 12.

About “Car Men” – The Movie

He’s gone on TV dressed up as a giant pickle. Nowadays, you’ll see him most often sporting a giant red, white and blue Uncle Sam hat. Tracy Myers may play outrageous to sell cars – but this best-selling author, nationally-recognized entrepreneur, and devoted family man is dead serious when it comes to building a business he, his family and his city can be proud of.

“Car Men” details the touching and occasionally hilarious story of how the Myers men created a car business that’s known all across America for its successful out-of-the-box thinking – not to mention its off-kilter TV commercials, featuring such quirky characters as Uncle Frank and Chainsaw Charlie.

As one auto pro says, “In the car business, Tracy Myers is who everybody wants to be.” Watch “Car Men” and you’ll find out why.

Frank Myers Auto Talks Turkey About Your Old Car

Dear Neighbors,
Gobble Gobble. Tom Turkey here to let you in on a big secret.  Here we are in the fourth quarter. 2011 is almost over and my chances of survival are decreasing with each passing day. I’m getting really clucking nervous. I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off (no pun intended and don’t get any funny ideas), looking for places to hide.

One place I’ve found to hide is Frank Myers Auto Maxx. After hanging around all week, I’ve been getting an earful, listening in on their “secret meetings” and I’m sharing this information with you. In return, I beg you to spare me! I don’t want to be your Thanksgiving dinner.
Here’s the scoop from the lot . . .
Seems I’m not the only one getting nervous around here! Tracy Myers from Frank Myers Auto Maxx counts on strong sales in the fourth quarter to reach his goals. Tracy calls it the Fourth Quarter Catch Up. This year, he’s got big goals and a BIG PROBLEM!
Frank Myers Auto Maxx is running out of used cars and there’s no time to buy more. They need to find 213 additional used cars before the end of November in order to “catch up” and meet their goals for the year.
Tracy Myers is running out of ideas and needs your help desperately. Will you sell your old car? Here’s what he’s doing: bring in any and every car you have.
If it’s really old, they still want it. If you’re still making payments, they’ll take it.
If you’re upside down and owe more than it’s worth, let that be their problem. They need cars and they need them now. Even if you owe $2,000 or $4,000 or $6,000 more than it’s worth, they’ll still want it. Myers will pay up to $4,000 more than appraised value for any car, running or not, paid off or not.
It’s the Fourth Quarter Catch Up “Buy Back” Sale!”
Frank Myers Auto Maxx has employed hundreds of people. Most of the team members have been with the dealership 5 years or more, and most of them have families. Myers has an obligation to take care of them. But he can’t do that without cars to sell. That’s why he’s in such a jam.
This whole problem started back in 2008. When the economy got in trouble, car companies slowed down production. Now, exactly three years later, there’s been a HUGE decline in the number of three-year-old vehicles that they can normally buy at the auction. Plus, 2011 has been a record year for Frank Myers Auto Maxx, so they’ve been selling cars faster than they can get them.
Now they have a real mess on their hands and this is the only solution they can think of. Will you help Frank Myers Auto Maxx? They promise to make it worth your while.
Of course, there’s no obligation to buy a car from Frank Myers Auto Maxx. But if it turns out to be the right time, you’ll be able to use all the extra money you get for your old car to get the lowest possible payment on a nicer, newer car.
Past Credit Problems Should Not Keep You From Coming In

Their “EVERYBODY RIDES” program was designed to help even the toughest customers get approved. Short sales, foreclosures, unpaid medical bills, late payments . . . not a problem! They want to help you find a loan that fits your budget.

As an extra bonus, if you sell your old car to Frank Myers Auto Maxx this month, Tracy will buy your family Thanksgiving dinner . . . as their way of saying thanks!
Here at Frank Myers Auto, Tracy Myers believes that everybody deserves to drive a nicer, newer car. They’re on a mission to help everyone they can . . . but they need your help. Will you please help Frank Myers Auto Maxx out?

Why You Aren’t Driving The Car You Want To Drive

In my 19+ year automotive career, I have observed that there are only 5 reasons why people aren’t driving the vehicle they want to drive. For most people, only 1 or 2 of the reasons apply to their situation. I feel that my role as a car dealer and the owner of Frank Myers Auto Maxx is to be committed to helping people just like you overcome whichever of the 5 roadblocks are standing in your way.

I know, I know. You think it sounds too simple. Just 5 things? That’s right. And when you break the problem down into little pieces like I have for you here, you see that whatever the problem is preventing you from getting the car you want is not really as big as it initially seemed.

The five reasons, in no particular order, are: Price, Payment, Credit, Down Payment, Trade. These 5 problems can remain problems if left up to the wrong dealership. Some salespeople and sales managers – in fact, some entire dealerships – are only interested in the slam-bam deals that don’t require effort, concentration, or skill. Some people in the industry are only interested in banging you over the head with the highest possible profit in the least amount of time.

But when you find the right dealer, you will find the opposite to be true. You can complete your transaction in a professional environment and be taken care of by a caring person who is less concerned with the profit from your purchase and more concerned about earning a customer for life. When choosing a dealer, always go with the expert. A dealer who is an expert has a lot of education and information that he gives freely with no expectations in returns.

The First Problem Keeping You From Your Dream Car: Price

For some Americans, price is the primary concern when shopping for a vehicle. They may have arranged financing through a personal source, like a bank or a relative, or they may be paying cash. Their mission is to find the vehicle they want at the lowest price possible. In order to be successful in their mission, a person in this category must clear their minds of all the extraneous car buying information. They need not be concerned with their trade in. They shouldn’t be worried about low interest rates. They don’t need to be talking about payments.

All of these issues confuse the car buying negotiation process. A dealer will be more willing to lower the price of a vehicle if she knows that the deal will be simple and seamless. No financing to deal with, no trade in to appraise. Just prep the vehicle, deposit the check, and transfer the title. Easy deal. So if you’re a price buyer with outside financing or cash, be upfront about your situation and ask for a speedy transaction and a low price.

The Second Problem Keeping You From Your Dream Car: Payment

Many Americans will be financing their vehicle through the dealership they buy the car from. This is the often times the easiest arrangement for the customer because you can have all the details ironed out at one time in one place. If you are arranging financing through the dealer, and aren’t concerned about your credit or the state of your trade in, you’re likely to be primarily concerned with the payment. You may feel that you don’t really care what the price is, as long as the monthly payment is equal to or less than what you’re paying now.

Or maybe you’re willing to step up in payment, but don’t want to go over a certain amount. If that’s your situation, you should explain your goal to the salesperson. Ultimately, a professional automobile sales person will be highly interested in quickly completing a transaction.

If you’ve chosen a professional and courteous dealership, by presenting your goals you can join forces to find the best solution. Leave the haggling out of the equation, and instead examine all the options that will allow you to arrive at the payment you have in mind.

The Third Problem Keeping You From Your Dream Car: Credit

An estimated 70% of Americans have bad credit. Don’t be embarrassed. Good things happen to bad people. Most people with bad credit incorrectly ASSUME they can’t buy a car. Perhaps they’ve been turned down in the past. But bad credit isn’t enough to keep a professional, caring, and courteous dealership from placing you into the proper vehicle you and your family deserve.

A savvy dealer with appropriate experience and relationships will be able to connect you with a number of different financing sources and options regardless of your credit situation. Options range from buy here pay here – where dealers finance your purchase personally and you pay them weekly – to special finance options through major banks.

Banks are generally looking for a diverse lending portfolio. That means that while they love to make loans to people with good credit, they also need to make loans to people with bad credit. So if you’ve had credit problems in the past or have been turned down before, don’t let that be a deterrent.

If you have concerns about your credit, call a few dealerships and ask to speak with a special financing specialist. Arrange an appointment for you to come to the dealership and speak with that person about your situation and discuss potential options.

The Fourth Problem Keeping You From Your Dream Car: Down Payment

Many people remember the days when an auto loan required a 20% down payment. Those same people look at the cost of vehicles today and think, “I can’t afford a $4,000 down payment for that $20,000 car I want.” Don’t sweat it. Neither can most people. Fact is, you no longer need a big down payment to finance an automobile.

There are many finance programs available which allow you to make only the first monthly payment at the time of purchase – or in some case – put $0 down. Of course, you hear people screaming “NO MONEY DOWN” on TV. That’s not exactly what I’m talking about. I’m talking about working with professional, courteous, and caring dealership personnel who can help carefully place you with an appropriate finance program to meet your needs.

The Fifth Problem Keeping You From Your Dream Car: Trade

Believe it or not, this is actually the biggest problem facing most would-be car buyers today. You’re currently driving a car that you’re still making payments on. But you want a different car. The problem is you owe more on your existing loan than your car is worth. So to trade in your existing car would cost you a lot of money, right?

Not necessarily. Once again, a true professional will be able to strategically reallocate the existing loan balance into a new loan or reduce it by contributing some dealer profit. In the end, you can find yourself with a new monthly payment that’s not necessarily greater than your existing payment, and by the time you’ve paid that loan off, all sins will be forgiven and all debts repaid.

Conclusion

A recurring theme in this article was the discussion of caring, professional, and courteous dealers. You see, these 5 problems – price, payment, trade, down payment, and credit – can remain problems if left up to the wrong dealership.

Some salespeople and sales managers – in fact, some entire dealerships – are only interested in the slam-bam deals that don’t require effort, concentration, or skill. Some people in the industry are only interested in banging you over the head with the highest possible profit in the least amount of time.

But when you find the right dealer, you will find the complete opposite to be true. You can complete your transaction in a professional environment. You can be taken care of by a caring individual who is less concerned with the profit from your purchase and more concerned with earning a customer for life.

That’s what this really comes down to – customers for life. One quick phone conversation with a dealer or manager or even sales person can tell you whether that dealership is interested in the one time sale or customers for life. If you happen to live in Winston Salem, I invite you to pick up the phone and call me personally at Frank Myers Auto Maxx to discuss your situation and give me an opportunity to earn your business for life.
