Frank Myers Auto Maxx Offers “Best Cars Of 2011” List

While it may sound strange, it’s my humble opinion that some of the 2011 cars are among the most interesting vehicles launched in the past 50 years. And although the entire new car industry is still suffering from the downfall of the economy, the automotive manufacturers continue to launch a newer, better, faster cars every year. Here are a few of the important and significant car launches that Winston Salem used car shoppers should be aware of.

2011 Ford Fiesta in Winston Salem

The Ford Fiesta is one of the most anticipated cars of 2011. It has been on sale in Europe since 2008. Now North America finally has their own version of this popular small car – and early test drives show it doesn’t disappoint.

So why do Winston Salem car buyers like the Fiesta so much? Because it offers things many other small cars don’t, such as the fun driving experience and a comfortable, upscale cabin. The available heated seats and Ford’s SYNC system plus a driver’s knee airbag are features rarely seen in its class. The Fiesta also manages to get hybrid-like fuel economy but doesn’t cost nearly as much as most hybrids. According to estimates by Ford, the Fiesta will get 30 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway.

2011 Hyundai Sonata in Winston Salem

The new Hyundai Sonata has been completely redesigned for 2011 and is one of the most unusual-looking midsize sedans to enter the market in several years. But that’s not the only reason it stands out. The Sonata continues to carry one of the longest powertrain warranties in the automotive industry and is also one of the least expensive cars in its class. It also comes with impressive standard features like Bluetooth and XM satellite radio.

The Sonata is a light car and it offers plenty of power, even though it is only offered with a four-cylinder. Even better is its impressive fuel economy. The pre-owned 2011 Sonata is the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid car in its class and will soon be available for sale at Frank Myers Auto Maxx in Winston Salem.

2011 Kia Sorento in Winston Salem

The 2011 Kia Sorento has ditched its truck-based platform and is now one of the most comfortable-riding and powerful compact SUVs on today’s competitive market. The Toyota RAV4, which has long been a leader in this competitive class, is being given a run for its money for the Sorento which was previously considered an also-ran.

The Sorento gets average gas mileage (an estimated 21/29 mpg city/highway) for a vehicle of this size. In fact, few seven-passenger SUVs cost less or net more miles per gallon than the Sorento. And even fewer can touch its 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

2011 Nissan Leaf in Winston Salem

The Nissan Leaf is the first mass-produced all-electric vehicle, it comes with a relatively affordable price plus it’s eligible for tax credits. The Leaf is powered by a battery pack which can be charged by a standard 220-volt home outlet or a quick-charging station and runs on an electric motor. The Leaf can travel up to 100 miles on a full charge which is more than most people drive in a single day.

You could technically use the Leaf as a family car since it’s a four-door hatchback and seats up to five passengers. It is inexpensive to operate and should be ideal for Winston-Salem used car commuters since it doesn’t require gasoline. Nissan says that the Leaf should only cost three dollars to charge based on national average electricity rates.

2011 Infiniti M in Winston Salem

The 2011Infiniti M has been redesigned and it’s now one of the best-performing full-size luxury sedans its class. This new model has more luxurious interior materials, adds more power and has much sharper handling. It also boasts a new look that is sure to get you noticed while driving your pre-owned Infiniti in Winston Salem.

The M is also big on technology. Its suite of high-tech safety features include a blind spot warning system that will actually take over steering in order to avoid a collision. There’s also a class-exclusive, optional “Forest Air” system that varies the vent fan speed in order to replicate the effects of a breeze. Engineers say it can even detect and neutralize cabin odors.
